This policy explains what Surewell collects, how it is used, and your choices. We don't sell your data, show ads or track you.

What we collect

• Account: your name, and optionally your phone number. Family members sign in with Apple (on iPhone) or Google (on Android); we keep only the account identifier Apple or Google gives us, never your email address. Parents join with a code from their family.
• Your family circle: its members and how they are related.
• Check-ins and medicines: when a parent checks in, their medicines, and which doses were taken.
• Safety details: a family code word and phone numbers the family saves for a parent.
• Signs of life: the parent's phone battery level and when the phone was last active; and only if the parent turns them on, their step count (from Apple Health on iPhone, or Health Connect on Android) and their phone's location.
• Scam checks: messages, screenshots or web pages you choose to check, and the result. Screenshots are not stored.
• Device and purchases: a push notification token and whether it belongs to an iPhone or an Android phone (your family circle sees which, so a parent's app offers FaceTime only to family on an iPhone), whether your family's subscription is active, and which store it was bought in.
• How the app is used: which screens are opened and buttons pressed, and how each step ended (for example, that an invite was shared or a sign-in failed), with the app version and the phone's model and language. Never what you type or check, and never shared with anyone. We use it only to find what's confusing and make Surewell easier.

How we use it

Only to run Surewell: to show a parent's day to their family circle, send reminders and alerts, and check messages for scams. Everyone in a circle sees its members' names and phone numbers, and what the parent shares. The parent sees everything they share in the app ("What I share") and can turn items off at any time.

Who else receives it

Messages you choose to check for scams are sent to Anthropic's AI (Claude) to assess them, after you agree in the app; Anthropic doesn't use them to train its models. We also use service providers to host Surewell, send notifications (Apple's push service on iPhone, Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android, which receive the notification's text to deliver it) and handle subscriptions (RevenueCat, with the App Store or Google Play). When missed check-in calls or texts are switched on, Twilio places the call to the parent or sends the text to their backup contacts, and receives the parent's name and the number it calls or texts. Each may use your data only to provide its service to us and must protect it as this policy does. Some of them, Anthropic included, are in the United States, so your data may be processed there.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists, except that check-in, medicine and scam check history is deleted after 90 days, and the record of how the app is used after 180 days. Deleted data is gone from our backups within 14 days.

Deleting your data

Delete your account at any time in Settings > Delete my account. This erases your account and everything linked to it. A parent who leaves their circle or is removed from it is erased the same way. A subscription is billed by Apple or Google: cancel it on an iPhone in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions, or on Android in the Google Play Store app > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
